All play and no work makes this a dull site.
In truth, I wrote three days of bad, inadequate, incomplete content. I couldn’t post it and keep my dignity.
YouTube gives a solid soundtrack to catching up on a Saturday afternoon. I’ll make sure there’s something for everyone!
First, there’s Kenny Rogers and The First Edition singing “Ruby,” the haunting admissions of a Korean War veteran. It was recorded by Roger Miller, Glen Campbell and Waylon Jennings, but Kenny and the Edition made it famous:
And now for a modern classic – Hank Williams, Jr. and co. with “That’s How They Do It In Dixie.” If you don’t think Hank Jr.’s still got it, you’re crazy:
I realize that not everyone likes Kenny and Hank Jr.
I’d like to show my appreciation for diversity in an effort to bridge the cultural gap that plagued me so in graduate school. Here’s a YouTube olive branch for all you Blue-blood sonsabitches – give it up for the Harvard-Radcliffe Veritones’ a cappella rendition of Garth Brooks’ “Thunder Rolls”:
Enjoy!

I knew both of those songs – except the first, I’m afraid it was before my time.
