How Do Educrats See You?

by Matthew K. Tabor on December 6, 2007

Weapons of Math Destruction just released another cartoon that, unfortunately, is right on the mark.

Have any parents felt this way? Bueller? Bueller?

how do educrats see you?

Yep, I liked this one, too, Matthew.

Not only is this true for educrats, but for other parents who try to “one-up” each other in how much “better” their child does.

Sad to say how much truth there is in humor.

I’m speaking as a parent and as a grad. student in this. It’s scary how everyone turns on each other.

Having been a teacher and now a parent involved in the curriculum, the degree in which the educrats have gone off into deep left field is amazing.

Somehow they confuse 6 & 7 year old children with grad students.

It never ceases to amaze me what they expect a child to be able to do. To quote my daughter best on a recent Language Arts 1st grade homework question:
(poem on rain)
Question: How do you think the person in the poem feels about staying dry?
My 6 yr old daughter’s answer: I don’t care.

She’s bored to death of History which isn’t history at all but Anthropology. Go figure, Egyptology, the Trojan War and the Iliad might be a tad beyond her since she is still learning to read.

But educrats can’t be bothered with details like that. Kids should know what cumulonimbus clouds are by the age of 7 and be able to tell you about Hatshepsut despite the lack of their front teeth to pronounce the words.

I love it!
